Revlon Lash Potion Mascara: Review & Swatches!

Revlon Lash Potion ($8.47 CDN individually & with bonus) is a volume + length mascara by grow luscious. It claims to give "spellbinding volume" and "supernatural length". Revlon says that it, magically transforms  lashes to lush, long and lustrous. A potion with strengthening protein drenches lashes for volume. Triple-groove wand combs through clump-free length.

Maybelline mascaras are my comfort zone. I haven't tried a Maybelline mascara that I didn't love. I decided to try out a different brand this time when I wanted to switch up my mascara. I saw this Revlon Lash Potion mascara on sale for two for the price of one. Revlon mascaras can be expensive for being a drugstore mascara.

I love the packaging of this mascara, it's different than the plain coloured tubes. This mascara looks so beautiful itself just in the tube. I gotta give credit to Revlon for creating such an appealing mascara.

Revlon calls the wand and "illusionist wand". The brush is thin with small bristles, they're not dense. The want is divided into three sections.

The consistency is not too watery or thick, it's the perfect amount of wetness. The application of this mascara is nice. It doesn't leave your lashes hard or stiff. My lashes felt really soft and natural.

Bare Lashes

One Coat of Revlon Lash Potion
I curled my lashes prior to applying the mascara. After one coat this mascara gave me good length, not so much volume. My lashes don't look like spider lashes. It was a bit hard to grab my bottom lashes with this brush. As you can see in the picture above, after one coat started drying there is some flaking of the mascara under my eye.

Two Coats of Revlon Lash Potion
This mascara claims to be clump-free. The second coat just clumped up my lashes right away. There was more flaking and my lashes didn't look very good at all.

I was hoping to really love this mascara but after trying it out I really don't like it. I don't like how it made my lashes look, one coat was okay but not that great. I also don't like that it flakes! I might try layering another mascara with this one in hopes that it'll look better or get the waterproof one next time. But overall I wish they worked more on the formulation rather than the packaging. I'm definitely going to try out more mascaras from Revlon but for now my holy grail is Maybelline!
