Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I don't usually wear foundation, but a while back when I was planning for my wedding I decided that I needed to find a foundation to wear on my wedding day. It didn't exactly work the way I wanted and the beautician that I got for my wedding day wouldn't let me do my makeup with my own products, so I ended up getting a break out from the products she used on me. Anyways for my wedding reception coming up I will be doing my own makeup.

I've heard good things about the Revlon foundations so I decided that I would try it out. I couldn't decide between the PhotoReady or ColorStay. Since I was going to have photos taken, I read through some reviews and found that the PhotoReady leaves some sparkles on your face giving you the Edward look. But at the same time the ColorStay has an SPF of 12 and it's known that foundations that have SPF can give you  a white cast. I tested out the PhotoReady at the store and found that it looks good indoors but as soon as you step outdoors it gives you a sparkly effect.

I decided to go with the Revlon Colorstay ($15.99 at Walmart). I got the foundation that's recommended for Normal/Dry Skin.

It is available in 10 shades: Ivory, Buff, Sand Beige, Nude, Natural Beige, Medium Beige, Fresh Beige, True Beige, Natural Tan, and Toast.

The colors that fits me best is Toast. I really like this foundation, it blends in well and it doesn't leave a heavy feeling on your face. The formula of this foundation is thick but it blends in well, this works very well with my dry skin. It is creamy and moisturizes my face. I haven't found it to be drying. It claims to last 24 hours.

Natural, no makeup.
I exfoliate, cleanse, and put lotion before I apply this foundation to prevent dry patches. I use my foundation brush to apply this. I first shake it up since it's hard to get the product since it's so thick. Then I dot my face with the foundation.

The only thing I found through reading reviews is that it dries fast so you have to blend as soon as you put it on. The way I apply this is using a foundation brush and I place dots around my face. I've found that a little product goes a long way. I use about a dollar size for my whole face. The texture of this foundation is creamy, it's very thick. It gives you a light to full coverage, it's very build able.

Finished look.

This foundation gives me a smooth and slightly dewy finish. It makes my face flawless!

The lasting power on this foundation is crazy. I've never wore it for 24 hours but it lasts all day long and it is hard to take off. I use cleansing wipes which makes it easy to take it off. But this foundation is perfect if you're looking for a long lasting formula. Lastly it doesn't come with a pump which does make it unsanitary. But another than that I really love this foundation and it's become my HG!
