Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters

Recently Revlon released this to their ColorBurst  line. Due to YouTube gurus raving about them, they've become the must haves! I live in Canada, so I didn't expect to see them till the new year. But I stopped by Wal-Mart the other day to browse and I was surprised to find this display next to the cashier. It wasn't near the other displays which is where I usually check, but as I was passing by these caught my eye. I've never tried any products from the ColorBurst  line, but I've heard good things about them. These were priced at about $7, which is average for any drugstore lip product. But I stopped by some other drug stores and saw them for $9.50. I only picked up 5 since I wanted to try them out and since they're going to end up being part of Revlon's permanent line,  I didn't want go crazy buying all of them.

These come in 20 colours: Pink Truffle, Sugar Frosting, Raspberry Pie, Tutti Frutti, Peach Parfait, Fig Jam, Candy Apple, Red Velvet, Cotton Candy, Berry Smoothie, Cupcake, Lollipop, Strawberry Shortcake, Sugar Plum, Sweet Tart, & Crème Brulee.

These are the colors I picked up:

When I think of lip butter what comes to mind is a creamy melt onto your lips product. Korres Lip Butter is my favorite but it is quite expensive ($16 CDN) and it comes in a pot which can be unsanitary and a hassle to use. I'm always looking for a cheaper alternative and the fact that Revlon's lip butter comes in a lipstick packaging sold me. I love the packaging, the translucent quilted case matches the color of the lip butter. The top of the casing is clear which makes it easy to see the actual color. Sometimes there aren't testers to see the actually color so this helps.

When first applied it's very creamy, buttery, and moisturizing. I noticed right away that your lips can't be dry or this lip butter will bring out your chapped lips, so your lips do have to be exfoliated! But this product does really make your lips soft and smooth. I got about 3 and a half hours of wear with them before I had to reapply. I love how pigmented some of the shades are such as: Strawberry ShortcakeRed Velvet, and Sweet Tart. The only sheer one I got is Peach Parfait, but it's very build able to get a more pigmented color.

The only thing that is disappointing is that they buttery, moisturizing feeling doesn't last the whole time. During long wear it starts to get dry and not as hydrated. A better word to describe it is it turns matte and not as shiny as it is when first applied. I also don't like that when you try to get it the product back down  after applying, parts of the lip butter gets squished into the sides of the packaging. This lip butter will also melt easily so don't leave it in a warm place!

Overall I love this product! It's a cheaper alternative to other lip butters. I'm definitely going to buy the other shades, I really want to try CupcakeBerry Smoothie, and Creme Brulee
